On a beautiful Saturday, a large group of BSCC members, family and friends met at the Fox & Hound in Cordova, then made the short trek to the Charles Baker Airport (next to Memphis Motorsports Park) - and Dr. & Mrs. Steve Gipson's hangar. This isn't just your usual hangar, but contains the Gipson's extensive collection of World War II memorabilia; ranging from small items like German radio's, to weapons and fully operational vehicles. Even with this impressive collection, there is still room in the hangar for several British cars (and even a couple of German ones) - not to mention the Gipson's two aircraft.

After touring the collection, the Gipson's joined us for a trip to Old Timers Restaurant in Millington for an early dinner. Then it was back to the hangar for the day's highpoint (pun intended!) - Dr. Gipson graciously gave all those willing a chance to fly with him in his Stearman biplane! Needless to say, everyone enjoyed the day - and left with a newfound love for flying.

We should all have a toy box like this...

This is only a small part of the extensive collection...

No - that's not a VW Thing!...

A portion of the Gipson's car collection...

The newest addition to the collection...

Three British cars surround a classic Porsche 356...

This Jag's interior looks just like an old leather flight jacket ...

Snoopy Balton prepares to search the skies for the Red Baron...

No top, two seats, not very fast but very maneuverable - just like in MG with altitude!...

Our host's newest toy. Hmmm....maybe next time :-) ...

Our favorite pilot and his lovely wife...
