In about 1979
several Austin Healey enthusiasts got together to form the Austin Healey
Club of Memphis. Before long, they realized the limitations of a club
devoted to a single, relatively low production marque and made the
decision to welcome all British marques into the fold...and changed the
name to the British Sports Car Club in 1980. The
British Sports Car Club, LTD. thus was "born" in its present form as an organization
devoted to the preservation, restoration and enjoyment of British cars. It was
made "official" on August 6, 1982 by the filing of its Charter and
Certificate of Organization with the Secretary of State. The BSCC is the local Memphis chapter of the
North
American MGB Register and the regional chapter
of the North American MGA Register.
How
to join...
Probably the best way, and the most fun, is to
simply show up at one of our regularly scheduled monthly
meetings. This gives you a chance meet a bunch of members, see a handful of
really cool cars, and enjoy an informative and entertaining presentation. If you decide to join us on a permanent basis, membership
applications will be available, or... you can click
here to download a
Membership Application (pdf format.
Annual dues are only $30.00 - including a personalized BSCC name badge for new
members. You do not have to own a British car (running or otherwise) to be a
member.
Meetings and Events...
The General Membership
Meetings are held on the third Monday of each month, except for December - when
that meeting is preempted by the annual Christmas Party. Meetings are held at
Coletta's
Italian Restaurant, at 2850 Appling Road just south of Highway 64 in the Bartlett
area. No reservations are necessary, just show up and enjoy the evening. Members
begin gathering at 6:00 for dinner, and the actual meeting and program begin at
7:00. You don't even have to be a member. In fact, simply attending a monthly meeting
is a great way to meet many of the members and join the club!
If you wish to
participate, you can put your name on a $1.00 bill and drop in the bucket when
you arrive - if you bill is selected during the nightly drawing, you win the
pot! In addition, a second drawing is held for a special prize for those who drove a British car to the meeting!
Club Events
are scheduled throughout the year and you'll find information about
those posted on our Facebook page,
so you'll want to check there often. In addition, you'll receive an
automated phone call informing you of upcoming events (and meetings) via
CallingPost - so be sure we have your current phone number so you don't
miss anything!

Our extensive

taken place over the past decades has been moved to Facebook: There
